For several years now, we’ve been working closely with Flanders District of Creativity as a trusted partner for their video and photography productions. One of those recurring collaborations is the Henry van de Velde Awards — a yearly award show that celebrates and elevates the very best of Belgian design.

For this edition, we were entrusted with the full video production for all award winners. Each video serves a dual purpose: as a short introduction shown during the award ceremony itself, and as evergreen content used across Flanders DC’s digital platforms. More than just documentation, these productions are meant as a reward for the winners — a way to translate their work into a strong visual story.

Flanders DC gave us the creative freedom to develop the concept, art direction and visual approach for the entire series. That freedom came with its own challenges. The 27 winning projects were wildly diverse: from physical objects and spaces to books, research-based projects and abstract concepts with no tangible form at all. Finding the right way to visualize each project — while keeping a coherent overall look — required a custom approach for every single video.

On top of that, all winners were filmed within a tight three-day production window. Each project resulted in multiple deliverables, including different formats and language versions, adding up to a total of 135 final videos. A demanding timeline and a complex production puzzle, but one that pushed us creatively and logistically — and one we’re proud to have delivered in full.
